Our Facility

Our team practices on a georgeous spring fed 15 acre lake. it is located about fifteen miles west of campus on route 88, which means quick commute times and more time on the water. This is a completely private lake so there are no other boats to get in the way or making annoying waves . The lake itself is about a half a mile long so you can get a good wakeboard pass or run through the slalom course before you have to turn.

Boats:

Our team members have a choice to ride behind either a 95 Ski Nautique for waterskiing and trick skiing, or a 2003 Mastercraft X-9 for wakeboarding and wakesurfing. We also have a few jet skis for wakeskating as well.

Waterskiing:

We have a regulation slalom course on site that we can practice on, so whether you are just learning how to ski, or are a seasoned pro who running 38' off, you can always enjoy a calm wake free slalom set with the NIU waterski team

Wakeboarding:

For all the wakeboarders out there, not only do we have a boat that throws sweet wakes, we also have a kicker and a slider if you feel like breakin away from the ordinary and doin something different for a change. The slider is 30 feet long and has a pvc sliding surface. It is supported by an inflatable tube which makes falls less painful. The jump has a polyurethane surface that is extremely slick. On a good day you can jump about thirty to forty feet off of it.

Wakeskating:

We also have a bunch of little jibs to have hit as well. We have a little wakeskate rail, a small jib box, and a jib barrel. These are all great for wakeskating, wakeboarding, or even trick skiing if you want.

Gear:

If you ride it, there's a good chance that we have it. We have all sorts of extra equiptment from wakeboards to slalom skis to vests to ropes, so you can borrow almost anything that you need when you come and ride with us.
